ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended the decision of federal government to replace Punjab Inspector General of Police (IG) Tahir Khan with Javed Saleemi.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza has taken the notice of federal government’s decision to replace Tahir Khan with javed Saleemi.
The CEC has also summoned the details pertaining to the removal of Khan from the Election Commission Secretariat.
The ECP has also written to the establishment secretariat to stop the transfer.
It is important to mention here that ECP had banned all kind of transfers and replacements in all government departments till by-polls.
Earlier today, Amjad Saleemi, a BS-22 office currently serving as Commandant in National Police Academy under Interior Division, was appointed as new Punjab Inspector General.
