The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday approved surge of Rs 1.27 per unit in electricity prices.
A summary was sent to the federal government for notification in this regard. Reports said that the surge in power price was going to put a burden of Rs 226 billion (bn) on consumers. NEPRA sources stated, “Uniform Tariff will be charged from the consumers for a period of twelve months. The Uniform Tariff will also include subsidy.”
