QUETTA: The patients continue to suffer as the protest by the Young Doctors Association (YDA) has entered its fifth day, reported by a private news channel. Together with paramedical staff, YDA has closed the outpatient departments (OPDs) across the province to pressurise the government for their demands. Paramedical staff has been on the strike for the last 11 days. The demands include increase in the salaries and additional facilities for the hospitals. The strike is vowed to be continued until the demands are met. Deprived of their legitimate rights, young doctors claim the provincial government had earlier acknowledged them. “Particularly health and home ministers who earlier promised on the demands have failed to deliver,” said the young doctors. The provincial government has been held responsible for the current situation of patients.
